INFORMATION FROM AHILA PRESIDENT’S DESK

The 16th AHILA Congress will break convention and pilot an innovation which I experienced at three international conferences I thought worked well namely EAHIL in Cardiff, U.K, MLA in Atlanta, USA and AFREHealth in Lagos in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Secondly, some AHILA conference delegates will fly into Nigeria through the Muritala Muhamed International Airport Lagos and travel by road to Ibadan.  At present, the Lagos/Ibadan Express way is undergoing major repairs and rehabilitation and vehicles are diverted to alternative routes. The journey from Lagos to Ibadan now takes more than two hours. This could affect the turnout of people during the Opening Ceremony if done on Monday, 14 October.

Opening ceremony will therefore take place on Tuesday, 15 Oct, the second day while three carefully planned Workshops will be held on the first day (Monday, 14 October, 2019).

In addition to having two notable Keynote Speakers, in this years’ AHILA conference, we are going to have experts speak on the various conference sub-themes. These experts are from United States, United Kingdom, Senegal, Nigeria,  Uganda and Zimbabwe.

There will be paper presentations by authors from Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, Malawi, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Many of you have already registered for the conference while others have not.
